SPORTSMANSHIP
EVUSA Region 4 Sportsmanship Pledge
I will conduct myself in a manner that is positive to the sport of vaulting. I will act in fairness and respect to all who are involved in competition-horse and human alike. I will exemplify graciousness in winning and losing. I will keep the welfare of the horses and the other competitors in mind at all times to promote the safety, good will, and advancement of the sport. I pledge to hold my peers and myself accountable to respect, support, and honor all the participants in the sport of vaulting.
SPORTSMANSHIP RECOGNITION OVERVIEW
The purpose of this award is to give recognition to those of our members who embody the sportsmanship qualities outlined below. This award may be given at any Region 4 sponsored event and at the end of the year. This recipient may be a vaulter, volunteer, coach, lunger, or trainer. Additionally, the recipient must:
abide by the EVUSA Region 4 Sportsman Pledge
demonstrate an ongoing commitment and dedication to the promotion of equestrian sport
serve as a positive role model for peers
exhibit characteristics that exemplify positive sportsmanship principles
EVENT RECOGNITION
Sportsmanship recognition may be given at any Region 4 Sponsored event to someone who has met the above criteria and the process is outlined below:
nominated and determined by competition management and representative of the Sportsmanship Committee
presented at the final awards ceremony
recognition to consist of a Region 4 branded vest or similar item
YEAR-END RECOGNITION
Sportsmanship recognition may be given at the end of the year to someone who has met the above criteria and has not received recognition at any previous event or at years-end. The process is outlined below:
nominated by EVUSA Region 4 members in good standing
determined by the Sportsmanship Committee
presented at annual meeting of the membership
recognition to consist of a Region 4 branded jacket or other similar item
